LESSONS
Book a lesson with Scott Richter, Matt Teel or Todd Christianson. They are all NCCP Certified Instructor and a trained NCCP Club Coaches. They can help you learn the game, improve your swing, or get tournament ready. Lessons can be drill based, skill based or combined.
1 hour or 1.5 hour time slots available
BEGINNER $50 for 60 minutes or $75 for 1.5 hours
Basic skills learned (grip, forehand, backhand, serve and some rules) typically to see significant improvement will require approx. 3 lessons if new player to get progress and be comfortable in league setting.
INTERMEDIATE / ADVANCED $60 for 60 minutes or $90 for 1.5 hours
More advanced skills and drills customized based on goals and performance outcomes like tournaments or skill specific enhancements like drops or boasts

Coach Profiles
Scott Richter
Scott has coached squash for over 15 years is an active local player, and plays around the province. He is a certified Squash Instructor and is taking training to become certified in the Competitive Development coaching Stream. Scott has coached the Zone 4 squash team for the Alberta Winter Games three times, with his team earning medals in 2 of those (Bronze and Silver). Scott sits as the current board chair for the Medicine Hat Squash Association and has contributed to bringing in top professionals to Medicine Hat for the Professional Squash Tournament that is held annually at the YMCA.
Todd Christianson
Todd is a certified Squash Instructor who has coached and played squash for well over 30 years. He is an active Squash Alberta Member and local squash icon. Everyone knows Todd. Todd is part of the Medicine Hat Squash Association, has competed in a variety of adult open tournaments, Canadian Masters and more. If you know Todd you know he loves Squash and has contributed to hosting the Professional Squash Tournament and other local tournaments annually.
Introduction to Squash:
Learn how to meet the needs of recreational beginners of all ages The coaching fundamentals learned in this workshop will enable you to be a squash assistant or instructor, or will help you take your first steps towards coaching competitively in the sport
Intermediate Instructor:
Expand your coaching portfolio that focuses on meeting the needs of recreational intermediate players. Has the ability to ntroduce intermediate strokes and how to provide support in competitions for their athletes.
Club Coach:
Learn how to work with junior competitive athletes looking to refine their intermediate skills and train for regional competitions. You will learn how to refine their basic squash skills, how to analyze their performance, as well as how to plan, schedule, and promote programs and activities.
Matt Teel
Matt is a certified Squash Instructor who began playing at the age of 14. In fact he was coached by Todd. Matt attended the Alberta Winter Games as a youth and has now played squash for over 20 years. Matt has competed at high levels both provincially and in national level tournaments. Matt is an active board member of the Medicine Hat Squash Association and has contributed to hosting the Professional Squash Tournament and local tournaments annually.
Provincial Coach:
This advanced coach training will prepare you to work with high calibre junior athletes over the long-term as you prepare them for regional/provincial tournaments. As a club professional or head coach, you will support the competitive experience of young adults from the Train to Compete stage of LTAD development.
